Help

Mostly about signing in. If you're past that, scroll for install, notifications, and how to use the app.

Signing in

Tap the invite link Corey sent you, enter your email, and you'll get a 6-digit code emailed to you from noreply@ourbulletin.app. Type the code in the app to sign in.

The code expires in 10 minutes. If you don't use it in time, just request a new one.

Don't see the email?

Check your spam or junk folder. The first time you receive one, you may need to mark it as “not spam” so future codes land in your inbox.

The code didn't work?

Most likely it expired (older than 10 minutes) or someone else already used it. Request a fresh one from the sign-in screen.

Install on your phone

Make it work like a real app, with notifications and its own window

Adding Our Bulletin to your home screen makes it work like a real app. You'll get notifications, it'll open in its own window, and it'll feel just like any other app on your phone.

On iPhone (Safari)

  1. Tap the Sharebutton at the bottom of Safari. It's the square with an arrow pointing up.
  2. Scroll down and tap “Add to Home Screen.”
  3. Tap “Add” in the top-right corner.
  4. Find the Our Bulletin icon on your home screen. Open the app from there going forward, not from Safari.

On Android (Chrome)

  1. Tap the three-dot menu in the top-right of Chrome.
  2. Tap “Add to Home Screen” or “Install app.” The exact wording varies by Chrome version.
  3. Confirm by tapping “Add” or “Install.”
  4. Find the Our Bulletin icon on your home screen and open the app from there going forward.

Turn on notifications

Get pinged when an event time or location changes

Once you've installed the app on your home screen and opened it from there, go to the Me tab and tap “Enable notifications.” Your phone will ask permission. Tap “Allow.”You'll get a notification any time someone changes an event time or location.

To turn them off later, go back to the Me tab and tap “Turn off.”

Already said “Don't Allow”?

You'll need to enable notifications in your phone's settings. On iPhone: Settings → Notifications → Our Bulletin. If you can't find it, text Corey.

Using the app

Tabs, badges, and what they all mean

  • Events tab: upcoming events, grouped by day.
  • Family tab (editors only): manage your kids, co-editors, and family name.
  • Followerstab (editors only): see who's following your family and invite more people.
  • Tap any event to see details, location, and photos.
  • Orange “Time changed” or “Location changed” badges mean something about that event was updated recently.
  • The “Cancelled” badge means the event isn't happening anymore.
